Harare giants Dynamos are once again in turmoil and all fingers seem to be once-again pointing at club chairman Bernard Marriot as the source of the crisis.
The club is in turmoil with players going on-and-off duty claiming they have not been paid their season sign-on fees and for some dating back to the 2024 season.
The bigger problem is that the money to pay off the players is not there with word being that Sakunda Holdings have put a foot on the brake pedal on their money until certain conditions are met.
While word doing rounds is that Sakunda will make an announcement on the future of their association with Dynamos, we can safely confirm that the conglomerate is not happy at all with the way things have been going on.
Yet, Marriot sees nothing wrong when a team that won the Chibuku Super Cup and the Castle Challenge and shared gate takings does not even have a cent to pay its players - even little to keep them going.
Fine, Magitare might not be directly involved with the player crisis, but it is the leadership he himself entrusted with running the club which has failed and as a result, he also becomes part of that failure.
Surely, how can a club as big as Dynamos suffer in the same way they are doing when smaller clubs are striking huge sponsorship deals on top of what they already have.
What is clearly evident is that the leadership at the club does not have a clue on how to run such a big club and moreso, how such a big brand can be used to attract extra sponsorship.

Those at DeMbare are so blinkered to think that Sakunda Holdings money and gate takings are the only way of survival forgetting that football has evolved and a club needs multiple partners.
Whatever, the case is, everything still boils down to Marriot who also does not seem to have an idea or clue on the sort of people who should be running a big club like Dynamos.
Those at Dynamos accuse Marriot of appointing people in positions on patronage and rumour mongering rather than on real qualities - like the ones he lost in Isaiah Mupfurutsa.
Dynamos, though, remain very popular but if they are to succeed again, then Marriot has to change the way he is doing things and most importantly his leadership appointment system.
In fact, Marriot should distance himself from the appointing role and delegate somebody better to do the job for him while he enjoys his coffee and benefits at home.
Surely, when a sponsor like Sakunda Holdings reaches the point of telling you that they need a leadership change, then you know that you are getting it wrong somewhere.
Word from the grapevine is that the DeMbare sponsors are in favour of Vincent Chawonza taking over control of the club before they commit themselves to the Dynamos cause.
Whatever, the case is, what we want to see is a stronger, different, and powerful Dynamos, irrespective of who is running the club whether it is Vincent Chawonza, Isaiah Mupfurutsa, Lesley Gwindi, Kenny Mubaiwa, Ignitius Pamire, Chris Romario Musekiwa, or even Adomsi Mukwasi.
A stronger Dynamos brings with it excitement to the Zimbabwean game and we only hope that Marriot will see the light and change his ways of doing things.
