Prior to yesterday, ZPC Kariba had scored just one goal from their first five Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches of the season.
But yesterday they encountered a willing customer in Kwekwe United who let on five.
The match was marred by controversy and challenging weather conditions.
It was played in driving rains particularly I'm the second half, yet that would not deny the home side their second win of the season..
Kwekwe United's struggles went beyond the weather.
The team's arrival at the stadium was delayed by over 40 minutes due to a dispute between the team management and players over unpaid allowances. The delay sparked concerns among fans and officials, and it seemed to affect the team's performance on the field.

They had threatened to boycott the match altogether before they made the trip in batches.
"We did not have the best of preparations after arriving late. Senior players joined us in the afternoon and even myself I was not expecting that I will be here but work is work I had to come," said Kwekwe United head coach Saul Chaminuka after the match.
"The bad preparations contributed to this poor performance. I can not disclose the problem facing the team but what you have to know is we have house problems affecting the team."
ZPC Kariba FC coach Newton Chitewe was thrilled with his team's performance. "I am happy with the performance. I was not expecting anything less than what he achieved today," he said.
Charles Munyanyi stole the show for ZPC Kariba, scoring a hat-trick in the 8th, 48th, and 55th minutes. Munashe Kamwendo also scored for ZPC Kariba in the 19th minute, while Collen Muleya added a fifth goal late in the match.
Kwekwe United's struggles were evident, with Dennis Dauda and Nigel Tinarwo particularly porous in the first half, allowing ZPC Kariba to penetrate their defense.
The match was a nightmare for Kwekwe United, who will need to regroup and address their internal issues if they hope to bounce back from this heavy defeat.
