Scott's impatience exerts pressure on Ndiraya

Ndiraya is a championship winning coach, who one get bet on winning it again with this Scottland side.

Scottland (1)....1

Scottland owner Pedzisai "Scott" Sakupwanya is throwing in everything, from US$12 lunches per person everyday to the luxuries of three star hotel camps as well as generous salaries, but he is not happy with what his team is delivering.

Coach Tonderai Ndiraya, the highest paid gaffer in the league is seemingly standing on shacky ground with his motor mouth boss expressing dissatisfaction with the type of football the Premier Soccer League newbies are playing.

Scottland have brought in a breath of fresh air with their generous owner, who has got bottomless pockets, dishing out money to his star studded side which has uplifted standards in the topflight.

Their highest paid player earns US$5000 per month while winning bonuses are usually pegged at US$500.

For the match against Highlanders, Scott pledged US$800 per player but his team escaped Barbourfields with a draw.

They are the only team that pays a training allowance.

Some of them get housing allowances of  as much as US$100 per month, something players at other clubs can only dream of.

Before the season kicked off they went on a three week trip to Zambia where everyone on board was paid a daily allowance of US$100 each while accommodation and upkeep was paid for by the club.

They are doing everything to take a leaf from professional European clubs.

Training starts at 6am everyday and everyone drives to work.

Between training they have their breakfast at a fancy restaurant and after training their US$12 buffet lunch is served.

Yet after robbing big clubs of their prized assets to assemble what looks on paper like a fierce force, the boss is less pleased with the quality he sees on show.

Not that Scottland have started badly, yesterday they managed a draw against Yadah, their second of the campaign so far.

They have won three of their first six matches and their only defeat came against Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Ndiraya is a championship winning coach, who one get bet on winning it again with this Scottland side.

He has often preached patience as he builds a team, yet it looks like his boss is in a hurry to conqure the local league in Barcelona like style.

In an interview with various sports reporters, Sakupwanya said he is not demanding the league title just yet as his team is still in the building phase.

Yet his 30 minute rant after his team's defeat to Ngezi Platinum Stars was quite telling.

On Friday he watched Northern Region Division One side N'ombeyaora romp to a thrilling 4-0 over Pam.

Sakupwanya is said to have interests in that club as well.

N'ombeyaora is coached by Nisbert Saruchera, who was initially employed to replace Genesis Mangombe at Scottland before a change of heart, which saw the former Black Rhinos mentor shipped to the Division One side.

Sakupwanya expressed satisfaction in the playing style employed by Saruchera.

"You guys played well, you played some exciting passing football. Not what we see with Scottland. Its embarrassing," he said.

"This is the football that we expect to come and watch. The seniors should come and learn that football should be passed around."

Those privy to the affairs of the club claim that Sakupwanya promised to buy Ndiraya a house and a top of the range personal vehicle if he delivers the league title.

But yesterday's draw against Yadah would not have helped matters.

It probably left his highly demanding boss agitated, especially after they failed to beat a team that had to borrow players from Scottland to replenish after losing their best talents.

Scottland scored first through their marquee signing Khama Billiat, with his first of the season.

Yadah restored parity just a minute before the break through Burundi international Franci Mustafa, who benefitted from an Evans Rusike assist.

When Billiat struck after 26 minutes it locked like it would be another routine win, just like their previous against Bikita Minerals.

But Yadah have enough experience in their ranks, second half substitute Tafadzwa Rusike was on fire threatening to make things worse for the newly promoted side.

Scottland tried hard to clinch all three points with their forwards causing havoc I'm the Yadah defense, yet the points clinch eluded them.

The draw was not that much damaging as leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars lost to Tel One.

Scottland cut the gap to just two points.
