I will do more damage in 2024: Mlue Jay

Mlue Jay wishes to be on more stages and winning the best album of the year.

This  year’s Zim hip-hop awards best diaspora winner and Bulawayo arts Awards’ outstanding hip-hop artist Mlue Jay says fellow rappers should pull up their socks because he is coming for more next year.

His album Less Talk More Action became one of the few albums from Bulawayo this year, across all genres.

Speaking on how he managed to conquer Bulawayo while based in South Africa, Mlue Jay said:

“I did what I always do the most that is working hard. Just because I am not at home does not mean I wasn’t working, I mean I made sure I was on the charts both at home and in the diaspora,” he said.

“I am the only hip-hop artist from Bulawayo that dropped a solid project, but still not home. "If rappers don’t pull up their socks in 2024 they will see me do more damage than this year because right now I am charged up.”

Mlue Jay wishes to be on more stages and winning the best album of the year.

“I wish to get more gigs and bookings. In 2024, I want to see myself on Shoko Festival and other big events. I will continue working hard,” he said.

“I will make sure in 2024 I bring the best album gong home with uMSAPHAZI dropping 2024.

“I started the year on a high note and I told myself I have to keep it that way.

“I dropped one of the best hip-hop albums and things changed.

“This album opened doors I didn’t even think exist.”

He said his target was to make music that people would relate to.

“I wanted my name to be known and I feel like this year a lot of people started to know about me after I had dropped the album,” Mlue Jay said.

“I had also targeted a Roil BAA gong because I had never won it and it felt good winning.”
