Veteran musician mentors next generation

In an interview with Standard Style, K-Jackson revealed that he saw the need to mentor the younger generation as the industry has a lot of challenges.

Bulawayo musician Jackson Kasvosve, aka K-Jackson, is mentoring the next generation in a bid to help them to reach great heights.

In an interview with Standard Style, K-Jackson revealed that he saw the need to mentor the younger generation as the industry has a lot of challenges.

“I started my music career playing the keyboard for the late singer Beata Mangethe before I moved solo,” he said.

“While working with Mangethe I learnt that for one to excel in the industry, they have to work with well known musicians.”

K-Jackson said he took upon himself to help the youth in the industry so they can reach their full potential and use his experience to make them achieve their dreams.

“A Bulawayo councillor offered me a place at the Mzilikazi Vocational Training Centre where I have my studio and I usually teach the youths how to play keyboards for free,” he said.

K-Jackson said he was trying his level best to help the youths within Bulawayo so that they can be able to generate income.

“As a veteran in the music industry I have been teaching the youth that music is business and they have to work hard to make money while at the same time, I am teaching them to desist from bad behavior,” he said.

K-Jackson is the brand ambassador for local bread Mr Sinkwa.

“As a brand ambassador of Mr Sinkwa, I have been selecting some youths during our promotional events so that they can perform and be known to the public to have a breakthrough and to have a better life,” he said.

K-Jackson said his goal was to improve the welfare of youths in the music industry.

The veteran keyboardist said he has helped scores of youths within to have their songs played on local radio stations like Khuluma FM and Sky Metro FM.
