MANY believers walk in sin consciousness and are confused with deliverance.
Lack of understanding of the redemptive work of Christ and the doctrine of identification as well as the sacrificial death of Jesus mean that believers will be standing on shaky ground in ignorance.
Let us read a simple portion of Scripture.
Before I quote, I have always said always bear in mind the incarnation of Jesus, His earthly ministry, the sufferings of Jesus, driven out of town, hanged and died first in spirit so that He could die in the flesh, buried, descended to the depths, rose from death, ascended into heaven and sat on the right hand (place of authority) of God the Father.
If you simply say Jesus died and rose again, you miss so much.
We look at Ephesians 2:1,5-6, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) [6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” Please pay attention. We were dead in sins. By substitution, Jesus took our sins and became sin and died. We were in Him. When we believe the Gospel these benefits are imputed to us.
Please remember that under the Old Testament, there were two goats, one to be cast away into the wilderness carrying the sins of Israel.
Jesus was driven out of the city to be crucified on Golgotha. The other goat was killed. Jesus died.

The mystery is that He rose as the High Priest.
Hebrews 7:25 tells us, “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
This helps those who think that they are intercessors taking over the ministry of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus rose after conquering all the power of the devil and the darkness. We were in Him when He wrought this victory.
Colossians 2:15, message reads, “God brought you alive — right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant cancelled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.”
The devil was defeated hands down and you were in Christ while this happened.
When Jesus died, you also died, when He was buried you were also buried and when He rose from the dead after conquering evil forces you were also in Him and when He ascended you were with Him and when He sat down on the right hand of majesty you sat in Him.
If you receive and accept the Gospel, there is no place for deliverance.
Think. 1 John 4:17, records, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”
Enjoy Christian victory and exercise believer’s authority.
If you have understood the doctrine of substitution, you won’t be scared and pushed to the corner by the demons.
You are a victor not victim and you fight from victory not from loss.
Remember that you are seated on high, the place of authority. I generally don’t get concerned if you take seconds or days to chase the devil away.
My concern is that you are spiritually growing.
The moment you are saved, please read, study, meditate and pray on Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Let us look at some cross references. You are now reconciled to the Father.
There is no chasm between God and you. It is an open door policy.
Colossians 1:21-23, “[21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled [22] In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: [23] If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;”
Let us read further in Romans 6:5-8, “[5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: [6] Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. [7] For he that is dead is freed from sin. [8] Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:”
Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.
Amen. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
