Makururu implores Vapostori For Ed to register to vote

Andby Makururu

LEADER of Johanne the Fifth of Africa International church Andby Makururu yesterday urged the Vapostori for ED members to effectively implore their members to register to vote ahead of the 2023 elections.

Makururu who recently met President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the State House pledged that his congregants will vote for Mnangagwa in the next year’s polls.

His remarks came after the government ended its mobile registration blitz exercise of identity cards, birth and death certificates last week.

“l want to urge Vapostori for ED to implore their members to register to vote. This is what matters most, Vapostori for ED are also doing and this is done through praying as we wish for peaceful 2023 elections.

“Registering to vote is a right and l have been encouraging my church members to register to vote for Zanu PF. I use spiritual vetting to see if people in my church have registered to vote,” Makururu said.

“We are keeping a register and l am happy that 700 000 people in my church have registered to vote although my target was one million votes for President Mnangagwa.”

Makururu was in the eye of a storm recently after he ordered church members to chant Zanu PF slogans.
